PRASHANTI NILAYAM

The word ‘Prashanti Nilayam’ came from Sanskrit and means the Abode of Supreme Peace.

Location 

Prashanti Nilayam is the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It is situated with the town Puttaparti in AnantaPur district of Andhra Pradesh in India.

How to reach

Road trip-  It is about

120kms (approx. 80miles) from Bangalore,

400kms (approx. 249miles)from Hyderabad,

393Kms (approx. 245miles)from Chennai.

And from all these points, direct Bus Service is available with 74 to 93 paisa/km.

Rail trip-    Indian rail network is world’s fifth largest with 62,658 km of rail lines and the largest under a single management. From any part of the country, railway services are available towards Puttaparti.

Air Trip-     The nearest regularly working airport is Bangalore and the other one is Hyderabad. Flights are easily available there.

Accommodation

Inside the Ashram, there are sheds (large halls for groups) and rooms are available. Normally for under 25years, they do not allow accommodation, if the person is alone but if the person is in group or with family then it is OK.

Point to be remember- Photo identity cards especially Voter ID cards or cards issued by govt. of India are required for the accommodation.
